Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a couple of updates on my quest to buy things for my wedding online and give you guys some tips. I quickly realized that websites that are targeted toward the wedding/bridal market have huge markups. Retailers know that people seem willing to spend a lot more on items for their wedding, so they mark up these items substantially. I found the best way to get around this and find wedding items is to really just browse traditional (non-wedding) retail websites (such as Gilt, Revolve, and MyHabit) for items that you want.
Here’s an example of what I did recently: I wanted to find a small white clutch for my wedding to hold my iPhone and other small items on my big day. When I looked around, I found a lot of clutches that weren’t exactly modern in my opinion; lots of fabric flowers or vintage beading. I decided to browse some purse sales on the websites that I frequent and stumbled upon a clutch that was exactly what I was looking for. The best part was the price! $300 down to $45! It just arrived today and I’m thrilled. Here are some photos:

I got this particular clutch from MyHabit.com, which is an invitation-only shopping website owned by Amazon. I’ll be writing a review of them shortly, so be sure to check that out.
When it comes to shopping for your wedding, don’t feel the need to go to wedding retail websites to find what you need. Simply browse regular websites for what you want, wait for sales, or check out invitation-only shopping events for designer items at huge discounts. You can absolutely have expensive tastes without paying top dollar for what you want!
