Hi everyone, today I’m reviewing the Australian boutique, Stelly. I’ve personally shopped at Stelly quite a few times on my trips to Sydney, so my review will cover both the clothes as well as the website.
Stelly has a great selection of clothes that are similar in style to the popular Australian boutique Sabo Skirt (see my review here), with great playsuits, maxi dresses, skirts, crop tops, and anything else you might want that are all right on point with current fashion trends. The best part is that most of their items are under $100, and as well as their own label, they feature clothes from other well-known Australian brands like MinkPink. Stelly also has their own style blog that offers fashion advice as well as styling tips, which is great for those of us who want a little help putting outfits together.
Stelly definitely caters to a younger crowd with their clothes, with colourful prints, short hemlines, and a more casual style than one would want for work. One thing to be careful of is sizing; Australian sizes tend to run smaller than US sizes, and Stelly runs smaller than similar retailers. On that note, I am also disappointed with the lack of size options, but hopefully this will change in the future. I have found that if you’re petite, you don’t have to worry as much as the clothes are small and short enough to accommodate your height, though perhaps not the maxi dresses. Stelly does have an option to email their customer service about the size/fit of any particular item, so if you’re unsure you can always ask. Make sure to pay attention to the fabric if you’re picky or sensitive about polyester, as most of their clothes are made of polyester or poly blends, though despite this, I have found the fabric quality to be very good.
Stelly has a great shipping policy worldwide, free for orders over $50 within australia, flat rate of $15 to the US with free shipping available for orders over certain amounts to other countries . Shipping is also fast, even for International orders, and they usually ship out next day. They also offer rush shipping if you need something very quickly. The return policy is also pretty good, they allow returns/exchanges for 14 days for Australian purchases, and 21 days for International, return shipping is not covered though and original shipping is non-refundable. One of the interesting features of the website is that it allows you to preorder clothing that is coming in stock/back in stock in the future to secure your order and be sure it doesn’t sell out, this means no more waiting and constantly checking back to see if your favourite item is back in stock. Finally, you can pay using Paypal on checkout, which is great because Paypal offers further protection and peace of mind on your purchases.
Overall, I recommend Stelly and would compare them to Forever21 or H&M, with styles that we just don’t get in North America. Happy shopping!
